Our outreach in Atlanta focuses on bridging health disparities and expanding access to vital resources. As a city that blends deep-rooted history with rapid growth, Atlanta’s communities face unique challenges in achieving health equity. We collaborate with local organizations to provide education, preventative care, and wellness programs tailored to the needs of its diverse population. By fostering connections and empowering individuals, we work to create long-term, sustainable solutions for better health outcomes. Leading these efforts is Sommer Floyd, whose dedication to community engagement and public health drives meaningful change across Atlanta.
Sommer joins the Wellness WoRx team with several years of experience in community outreach, social services, education, and mental health. Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Sommer earned her bachelor's degree in psychology at Georgia Gwinnett College and is currently pursuing a master's in social work at the University of Georgia. Before joining Wellness WoRx, she served as the Education and Outreach Coordinator for a non-profit sexual assault center in Northeast Georgia, where she managed a community-based prevention education program, coordinated outreach and awareness efforts, and provided trauma-informed services to survivors across a six-county service area. As the Atlanta-based Community Engagement Liaison for Wellness WoRx, Sommer dedicated to leading outreach initiatives that advance health equity, reduce health disparities, and promote overall wellness among underserved populations throughout Metro Atlanta.
